The information management and information system specialty of Dalian Maritime University was founded in 1988, and was selected as the "first batch of undergraduate characteristic specialty in Liaoning province" in July 2015. At present, the enrollment scale is three natural classes, about 90 people.There are 16 full-time teachers in this field, including 2 doctoral tutors, 5 professors, 8 associate professors, 3 lecturers and 15 Ph. D. There are also 2 full-time experimental teachers. In order to meet the needs of national economic development and transportation industry and adapt to the trend of information, network and large data, the professional training industry has distinctive features, and has a competitive and complex application of computer technology, management theory, information resource management and quantitative analysis. The graduates are mainly the management, technology and consulting posts of IT companies and Internet companies, and the information departments of large enterprises and institutions (including shipping enterprises).This major is the major supporting specialty of master degree and doctoral point in management science and engineering. Relying on the Key Laboratory of Liaoning, the innovation team, the key disciplines and the post doctoral station of the Ministry of personnel of the state, a complete set of multi-level training system from undergraduate to master, doctor and post doctoral system has been formed.
